What is chessfolio
The chess review tool, and its club companion.
chessfolio.io is a chess game-review tool: paste a Lichess or Chess.com game and get a per-move analysis, with each move classified — brilliant, best, blunder, and the rest.
This fixtures widget is a free companion to that tool. It pulls your club’s live fixtures and results straight from the English Chess Federation (ECF) League Management System, so your website stays current without anyone updating it by hand.
Download the plugin
Install it on WordPress in a couple of minutes.
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
- Choose the ZIP you just downloaded, then Install Now and Activate.
- Open the new Chessfolio Fixtures menu in the sidebar and set it up (below).
- Drop it onto any page with the
[chessfolio_fixtures]shortcode, or the Chessfolio Fixtures block.
Free — works on any modern WordPress site. No API keys, no sign-up.
Getting started
Point it at your club, then drop it on a page.
You only need to do this once. Everything here is optional except your club code — sensible defaults do the rest.
1 · Settings (the Chessfolio Fixtures menu)
-
ECF club code required
Use the Find your club search: start typing your club’s name and pick it from the list. If you already know the number, type that instead — Camberley is
2556. This is the only setting you have to fill in. - Main colour A colour picker for the widget’s highlight, used on links and your club’s results. Match it to your site if you like.
- Theme Choose Light or Dark so the widget sits comfortably on your page background.
- Organisation id optional Advanced, and safe to leave blank. It only sharpens the “View on LMS” deep-link back to the ECF League Management System.
There’s a live preview right on the settings page, so you can see exactly how it looks before you publish.
2 · Add it to a page — the shortcode
Edit any page or post, and paste this where you want the fixtures to appear. It uses the settings you saved above:
[chessfolio_fixtures]
Want different settings on just this page? Add any of these attributes. Anything you leave off falls back to your saved settings:
[chessfolio_fixtures club="2556" accent="#ff6600" theme="dark" org="357"]
club— your ECF club code.accent— the highlight colour, as a hex value (e.g.#ff6600).theme—lightordark.org— the optional organisation id.
Prefer not to touch a shortcode? Add the Chessfolio Fixtures block in the editor instead — you’ll find the same options in the block settings sidebar.
No WordPress? See it live
It runs anywhere, and there’s a live demo.
The widget isn’t WordPress-only. Any site that lets you paste HTML can host it.
